Visit to Hong Kong (part 5)

Amazing TRANSPORTATION !
This city has it all figured out!

The underground subway system is: extensive
affordable
clean
safe
efficient
popular
......a great way to get around!  There is no need to own a car in Hong Kong.

Electric streetcars, but double-decker!!!

A store selling sea-food......Notice the extreme lighting!
Certainly one of the seafood capitals of the world!!
Specialty items and Chinese medicine

                  A little variety:  sausages:

So many strange foods........

It was wonderful to have Sanwa there with us, explaining things like the "bird saliva nests", in detail.

A popular shopping street

And, a busy "bus street".... (pictured here are the 16-passenger buses)......

Click here to see the beautiful, shiny, new, double-decker buses in action.

Lately, we seem to be fascinated with
Air and Space Museums
visiting them in each great city.  Each time, we have watched 3-D   I-MAX   shows about Astronomy, the International Space Station, Solar Flares, Long-distance Space Travel......

A-Kay is proud of China's recent space program.

For one of many things, we learned about China's role in inventing the compass:

Wherever we go,
Chris finds beautiful flowers to photograph:
Orchids are HUGE for Chinese New Year and Spring Festival!

There were whole markets full of orchids.

This is probably a famous sign in Old Hong Kong.
