Chongqing City Life (part 7) plus "the pen-pal"

Because we live out-in-the-sticks of Dole Valley, Washington, in America,
the big-city life of Chongqing, China,
certainly appeals to us during this contracted year of teaching English at Chongqing No. 8 High School.

In actuality, this is where one very polluted river meets another.
Chongqing has a mono-rail system, and is now working on an extensive subway system.  They have built MANY bridges across the city's two rivers.
The city is particularly beautiful at night.
There is plenty of opportunity for entertainment in the city!  The Blue Sky Theater produces a show with music, dance, and acrobatics (involving a twirling trapeze).  Great fun to watch!

The very best part of being in the big city, though, involves the people we have met here.....
most specifically the students and teachers!
One very special student is Cassiopeia,
a girl who now has a pen-pal at Battle Ground High School in the U.S.A......
It is so exciting to know that two girls on opposite sides of the planet are now communicating!
Cassiopeia!  After mailing her first letter at the China Post, we celebrated friendship at Pizza Hut!
