National Holiday Car Trip (part 1)

We traveled around Hubei Province and Chongqing Municipality, in a little van, with friends, for 5 days of the
National Holiday
celebration in October.

There were actually 3 cars full of people in our travel group!
The four kids each had walkie-talkies, with which they could communicate car-to-car LOUDLY  all through the trip.

We draw attention everywhere we go!  In this case, a pretty large group of older men gathered around to see "the Foreigners."  One old guy asked whether we were "Yankees ?"....

People ask to have their photos taken with us often.  And, others walk back-and-forth in front of us, or on a trail,  just gawking.  We're getting into more remote parts of China on this trip.

The Scenery was INCREDIBLE, and worth the long car ride and the walk in the RAIN.
The cloudy, rainy day actually gave the whole park a MAGICAL, MYSTERIOUS  feeling.
Enthusiastic-for-Life Qing, with her wonderful husband, Sam!
Sometimes the trail got pretty narrow.......

We met local people who had set up little food stands along the way.  Of course, this baby reminded me of sweet Veronica!

And, young boys playing Chinese Chess:
